“May all be well with humankind
May our leaders protect by staying to the right path
May good things come to those who know the earth to be sacred
May all worlds be at harmony”
These are the words of Mangala mantra as recalled by David Swenson. I actually originally learned this translation from a former teacher of mine named Dana several years prior to meeting David. I enjoy reciting it after my own classes for the sake of keeping an oral tradition alive. I’ve also found a high correspondence between this version and that which Melanie Cooper wrote about in Elephant Journal.
